Logic

Basically hip-hop music these days, in my eyes, tends to be dwindling to the point of one hit wonders, rhymes that merely consist of repetition of the same word, rhymes with words that don’t even remotely rhyme but make them seem as they do through the way they’re presented, and non-intellectual combinations of women, money, crime, guns, money and of course, women and money.

Logic is the new kid on the block that has been blowing up in the underground hip-hop scene. His music portrays that he (at this point) is not going to be a sell-out, is not going to sign with some record label that is going to auto-tune and make him a quick buck or two. He’s in it for the long run, he seems to be in it for the music, which is extremely refreshing these days since it tends to be extremely rare. I’ve been listening to his mix tape non-stop since I acquired it a few months ago, you can grab it here.

The ‘Young Sinatra’ born in 1990, has complicated, well thought out lyrics that touch on more in life, but more importantly displays and brings back an intellectual aspect to the genre of Hip-Hop. Some hits that I’ve been digging are “All I do”

And a nice display of his lyricism can be seen in his track “Live On The Air”

Pay attention, cause I see him blowing up real soon
