50% Moon Rocks Missing

“We’d like to share a piece of this rock with so many of the countries throughout the world.”

This was quoted by Eugene Cernan, the last man to have set foot on the moon (thus far) in December 1972 who picked up a large brick sized moon rock, which was later distributed world wide as broken pieces to 135 foreign countries and 50 US states.

This occurred twice, it also happened on the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. These are known as “Goodwill Moon Rocks”. Now, Nasa has announced that half of them are missing, and black market based pricing has been demonstrated as being up to $5m dollars American.
